Job Description
A vacancy exists for a Packer at our Manufacturing Branch in Durban Westmead.
• *The overall scope of the work entails**:
Primary function is to perform manual packing tasks to effectively ensure that production targets are achieved
• *Key Responsibilities**
Product Packing
Materials Handling
Factory Housekeeping
• *Specific Duties**
Product Packing
Prepare packaging materials for packing products
Filling materials into individual packaging units (Gbond)
Packing products and components into shipper (boxes)
Labelling and sealing of shippers
Ensure closure of products are in place and secure
Perform visual inspections of packed products on-line for defects and isolate
Labelling batch identification on product
• *Materials Handling**
Request materials as per production schedule from stores
Stacks and secures products / shippers onto pallets and transfers pallets to specified areas
Collects materials and loads materials into filling machines
• *Quality**
Verifies identification on product and box label correspond
Completes relevant documentation correctly
Checks packed product complies visual appearance standards
• *Factory Housekeeping**
Maintains workplace to required housekeeping standard
Empties waste containers as required
Perform manual tasks as directed
• *Skills, Qualification and experience needed**:
Matric
Physically Fit
Able to communicate in English (Read & write)
Basic Mathematics
Experience in a Manufacturing environment will be preferred
