Job Description
Interwaste, a leader in waste management solutions across Southern Africa, is seeking a seasoned Semi-Skilled Boilermaker to join our team at the Durban branch.

Role Overview

The Semi-Skilled Boilermaker will play a pivotal role by assisting with the performance of maintenance inspections and monitoring operating conditions on repairing Interwaste Fleet and Bins.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and technical diagrams.
Fabricate, cut, shape and bend metal components using cutting torches, welding equipment and power tools.
Perform semi-skilled welding (MIG and ARC).
Assemble and install components.
Perform welding, bolting and riveting of structural elements such as beams and columns.
Repair or replace faulty parts.
Erect and align structures, including work in confined spaces and at heights.
Manufacture typical Boiler making components such as lobster bends, cones and square-to-round transitions.
Assist with the fabrication and assembly of metal components.
Grind, cut, measure and prepare materials accurately.
Maintain welding equipment and tools.
Follow production instructions and quality standards.
Assist senior welders and supervisors where required.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.

COMMUNICATION AND FEEDBACK

Ensure all your superiors are notified in a timely manner regarding aspects of your areas as deemed necessary by them.
Deal with personnel matters such as reporting incidents
Ensure your manager is informed off all staff related matters that will affect the organisation in a dire manner immediately (e.g. IR).

ADHOC
Any other reasonable adhoc duty as required or requested by management.

It should be noted that individuals may need to expand their roles / scope to cover the workload of other employees in times of high workloads or individuals who may be absent from work.

5 Years Experience working with Cutting Torch, Hand tools, Power tools and Welding machines
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work overtime when required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Grade 12 [Std10] or Equivalent
5 Years experience as a semi-skilled Boilermaker
Residing in Durban Area Advantageous
