Job Description
Structural fitters and welders – Charleston, SC

Pay: $45/hr

Per Diem: $140/day (for qualified travelers)

Schedule: Full‑time, long‑term opportunity

Responsibilities
• Layout, fit, and fabricate OR weld metal structures according to blueprints and specifications
• Install bulkheads, foundations, decks, frames, and other structural components
• Perform cutting, grinding, burning, and tack welding as needed
• Use measuring tools, levels, squares, and shipyard equipment
• Work safely in confined spaces, at heights, and in various shipyard conditions
• Collaborate with welders, pipefitters, and other trades to complete assigned tasks
• Follow all safety protocols and shipyard procedures

Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of fitting experience (required)
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Proficiency with hand tools, torches, grinders, and shipyard equipment
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
• MUST HAVE SHIPYARD EXPERIENCE
• Reliable transportation and ability to work full shifts
• Must be able to lift, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks

Compensation & Benefits
• $45 per hour, based on experience
• $140/day per diem for eligible travelers

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $55.00/hr.
