Job Description
Riverfront location. Customer-facing kiosk. Weekends/Evenings required.

We are seeking an experienced, capable and reliable prep/line cook to join the team at our kiosk at Rockwell on the River (3507 N. Rockwell, Chicago). This Soul & Smoke outlet in Avondale requires a skill set strong enough to carry out line prep, execute line orders, and interact with customers in this open, client-facing kitchen. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, detail-oriented, energetic cook with strong time management and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:
β€’ Set up and stock stations daily with necessary food and supplies.
β€’ Prepare food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, smoking, grilling, sautΓ©ing, and other cooking methods according to specified recipes and standards.
β€’ Maintain cleanliness that complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
β€’ Perform inventory checks and complete food storage logs as required.
β€’ Prep and send out dine-in and to-go orders in a fast-paced setting.
β€’ Communicate with Soul & Smoke management, customers, and coworkers in a proactive and professional manner.
β€’ Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
β€’ Wash and put away dishes.
β€’ There are also FOH duties in the role at this pop-up, taking some orders at POS, answering customer questions, and maintaining the dining room.

Requirements:
β€’ Must have the ability to work evenings and weekends and be flexible when necessary.
β€’ 2 years of line/prep experience - some fine dining preferred.
β€’ Servsafe and Chicago food manager, Allergen, and Basset certifications required.
β€’ Reliable and timely.
β€’ Ability to multitask and keep organized.
β€’ Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
β€’ Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Pay/Benefits:
β€’ Job Type: Full-time preferred, part-time is possible.
β€’ Pay: Base of $17-20 per hour, plus pooled revenue share ($4-6 per hour additional per hour). Full time employees make over $10,000 in revenue share per year.
