Position: Unarmed Security Guard

Location: 4015 N Ashland Ave, Chicago, IL 60613

Schedule: 12 Hour Shifts | 6:00am-6:00pm | 6:00pm-6:00am

Event Details: This is a Special Event going on June 12th-21st with Shift blocks

Position Overview

The Security Guard is responsible for providing security services at a client site(s) during scheduled shifts. The guard's schedule, site assignments, and hours are subject to change based on client needs, staffing requirements, call-offs, and contract adjustments. While SSPG strives to accommodate preferred schedules, flexibility is essential for the role.

Key Responsibilities
β€’ Provide security services at the assigned client site(s), ensuring the safety and security of personnel, premises, and assets.
β€’ Be available to work various shifts and client sites as needed. Schedule and locations may change depending on client needs, staffing requirements, or other operational factors.
β€’ Maintain professionalism in all interactions with clients, visitors, and staff. Ensure that all communication fosters a positive and secure environment.
β€’ Conduct regular patrols of the assigned site and monitor surveillance equipment, ensuring adherence to the client’s security protocols.
β€’ Accurately document any incidents, security breaches, or irregularities, and promptly report them to the appropriate personnel for follow-up.
β€’ Additional duties as assigned by Silver Star leadership team.

Qualifications
β€’ Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
β€’ Must be 25 years of age or older.
β€’ High school diploma or equivalent required.
β€’ Active PERC required.
β€’ Previous unarmed security or related experience preferred.
β€’ Strong situational awareness and attention to detail.
β€’ Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
β€’ Ability to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
β€’ Capability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies.

Schedule and Availability
β€’ Guards are expected to work scheduled shifts at their assigned client sites.
β€’ Shifts, site assignments, and schedules are subject to change based on client and SSPG needs.
β€’ Flexibility is required to work additional shifts, including on-call or emergency coverage when needed.
