Job Description
Job Title: Flux Welder

Job Description

Seeking an experienced welder to work on carbon steel pipes ranging from 1" to 23" in outer diameter, with thickness varying from 1/4" to 1/2". The role involves welding vessel-like products using open root MIG and flux core techniques, fabricating silencers, and welding pipes in the valve product line. The process includes preheating materials, welding grooves, backgouging, and refilling. Additional tasks include fitting shells together, attaching lifting supports and legs onto rolled plates, welding caps onto pipes, and fitting flanges and nozzles onto materials. Candidates should be able to read blueprints and perform basic math.

Responsibilities
β€’ Weld carbon steel pipes and vessel-like products using MIG and flux core techniques.
β€’ Fabricate silencers and perform welding on valve product lines.
β€’ Preheat materials, weld grooves, and perform backgouging.
β€’ Fit shells, lifting supports, legs, flanges, and nozzles onto materials.
β€’ Bevel and square up materials.
β€’ Read blueprints and perform basic mathematical calculations.

Essential Skills
β€’ 5+ years of welding experience.
β€’ Proficiency in flux core and MIG welding.
β€’ Ability to backgouge and weld pipes ranging from 1" to 20" or vessels.
β€’ Experience with pipe welding, fabrication, and fitting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
β€’ Preferred experience in TIG, sub arc, or stick welding.
β€’ Ability to perform fitting tasks.

Work Environment

Work in a clean, open-aired shop environment. This position is an open-ended contract, with potential for conversion to a permanent role depending on workload.
β€’ *The schedule includes working 13 days on with 1 day off, primarily on the night shift from 6pm to 6am, Monday to Saturday, with some Sundays as needed. Expect to work 60+ hours a week.**

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
