Job Description

As a Security Guard – Unarmed Night Rover in Chicago, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer at a higher-education location, you will monitor and patrol buildings and grounds, conduct routine rounds, stay visible to help deter security-related incidents, and assist students, staff, and visitors with clear communication and professional service. You will document observations, respond to calls for service, and support campus operations with teamwork and integrity, backed by Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, and innovative approach and people-first culture.

What You’ll Do:
• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance or access concerns.
• Monitor access points, observe cameras and/or alarm systems as assigned, and assist with visitor direction and policy compliance in a professional manner.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying the appropriate campus contacts and/or public services when needed.
• Complete daily activity reports, incident reports, and shift handoffs, and communicate clearly with Allied Universal supervision and site stakeholders to support consistent post operations.

Minimum Requirements:
• Have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
