Job Description

This welding role supports the fabrication of steel frames and cabinets used in server rooms, data centers, and other critical data storage applications. You will use MIG and TIG welding techniques on stainless steel and aluminum to produce high-quality frames and shelving according to customer specifications and engineering blueprints. This position is available due to business growth driven by expanding data and technology needs.

Responsibilities
β€’ Perform MIG and TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum components to fabricate frames, cabinets, and shelving to precise customer specifications.
β€’ Execute straight welds, plug welds, lap joints, tee joints, and butt joints while maintaining high quality and structural integrity.
β€’ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to determine welding requirements and assembly sequence.
β€’ Assemble metal components prior to welding, ensuring correct alignment, fit, and orientation.
β€’ Use grinding, deburring, and sanding tools to clean, smooth, and finish welded parts and assemblies.
β€’ Inspect welds and finished assemblies for defects, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards, making adjustments as needed.
β€’ Maintain an organized, clean, and safe individual workspace, including tools, equipment, and PPE.
β€’ Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working in the welding area.
β€’ Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes.

Essential Skills
β€’ Proven experience with MIG welding on stainless steel and aluminum.
β€’ Experience performing straight welds and plug welds on metal frames and shelving.
β€’ Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.
β€’ Hands on experience with grinding, deburring, and sanding metal components.
β€’ Ability to perform lap joints, tee joints, and butt joints to quality standards.
β€’ Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality welds and assemblies.
β€’ Ability to follow safety procedures and use required PPE in a welding environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Farmingdale, NY.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
