Job Description
To ensure guests feel safe and secure staying in our hotel, appropriate security levels are absolutely necessary. As a Security Supervisor, you’ll need to ensure that safety and security policies in accordance with IHG and Crowne Plaza standards are carried out, including emphasising the importance of staying alert at all times to the team members. By allowing guests to feel safe and secure, it would encourage them to repeat their visits. One of your main roles will be to help manage the day to day administration and smooth operations of the security department and to lead the team to work towards achieving the department’s goals and objectives. A little taste of your day-to-day Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be: Responsible for the day to day security operations, including leading the team during your shift, ensure patrolling, clocking, investigations and all other routine duties are carried out and records properly maintained Report to your Manager or his assistant any property defects or deficiencies especially matters related safety or security Monitor staff clocking on and off duty Conduct regular locker checks with Human Resources Conduct random checks of key registers in various departments and report discrepancies Conduct random checks on passes of staff entering, and check their bags when they leave the building after work Conduct trainings & retraining for security officers Ability to perform the duty of CERT leader or Site Incident Commander (SIC) & ensure that his team are fully trained in PPE and fire-fighting skills · To lead by example & have the moral courage to supervise, counsel staff whenever necessary To help ensure that contractors & vendors adhere strictly to all rules & regulations set by the hotel Guest Experience Responsible for the safety & security of all guests · Enhance the guest love experience Ability to respond & manage all emergencies correctly & professionally including escalating incidents to the higher management Be thoroughly familiar with and guided by hotel’s emergency plan in any case of fire outbreak Assist in escorting VIPs and dignitaries Maintain a vigil 24 hour surveillance on areas frequented by guests and all work areas Ensure no undesirables loiter in or around the hotel premises with ill intentions Assist superior in preparing roster and manning, bearing in mind the department’s budget and being aware of financial targets Be in line with the hotel’s green initiative and help cut wastage in energy & water conservations as well reducing operational expenses whenever proper. Participate actively in all responsible business activities Safety for both guests and employees is of utmost importance Be aware of responsibilities and adhere to occupational, health and safety legislation, first aid, security & fire safety policies and procedures · Proactively check & ensure that all security & fire safety equipment and systems are in great working condition and records of maintenance properly kept for independent audits Participate actively in the twice a year fire drill and help the fire safety manager to organise the two mandatory drills annually Ability to execute evacuation plans & exercises such as fire evacuation, medical emergency, bomb threat situation, lockdown etc. Assist to plan and conduct table top exercises (TTX) and mini drills in regard to above plans Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported in a timely manner and properly recorded in accordance with hotel requirements Assist in identifying all security & safety risks in the security department & the hotel in general by being a risk member / leader or safety ambassador Assist the hotel in passing the BSS as well as obtaining the various annual awards for security, fire safety and workplace safety To perform any other duties as & when directed by the security manager, his assistant or the management What we need from you A minimum qualification in Diploma At least 3 years of experience in the a supervisory level, including management experience Valid PLRD Security Licence Ability to lead a team What you can expect from us We give our people everything they need to succeed.
