As per the Ministry of Manpower, employers must pay foreign work permit holders in plumbing roles a minimum basic salary of SGD 2,400 per month as of 1 January 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 44 hours per week. This rate applies to all new and renewed work permits issued from that date.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, foreigners seeking plumber jobs must hold a valid Work Permit issued only through an approved employer sponsor. The employer must apply online via the MOM Work Pass portal at least 3 weeks before the foreign worker starts. S Pass or Employment Pass are not permitted for this occupation in 2026.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, local and foreign plumbers must hold at least an NTC-2 certificate in Plumbing Technology or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant experience. Foreign applicants require an additional 4 years of post-qualification experience if they lack the NTC-2. All candidates must pass a skills assessment before work permit approval.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, the required documents include a valid passport, NTC-2 certificate or equivalent, employment contract, and medical examination report dated within 3 months. Employers must also submit the In-Principle Approval letter and pay the SGD 100 issuance fee by 31 March 2026.
