As per the Ministry of Manpower, employers must pay foreign work permit holders in plumbing roles a minimum basic salary of SGD 2,400 per month as of 1 January 2026. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 44 hours per week. This rate applies to all new and renewed work permits issued from that date.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, foreigners seeking plumber jobs must hold a valid Work Permit issued only through an approved employer sponsor. The employer must apply online via the MOM Work Pass portal at least 3 weeks before the foreign worker starts. S Pass or Employment Pass are not permitted for this occupation in 2026.

Foreign applicants require an additional 4 years of post-qualification experience if they lack the NTC-2. All candidates must pass a skills assessment before work permit approval.
