Applicants require a valid passport, medical insurance coverage of at least SGD 15,000, and security screening clearance. The permit duration is up to 2 years and renewable only if the worker passes the required medical examination every 6 months.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, security guards require completion of the National Police Academy's 16-hour Basic Security Training course and at least 1 year of relevant experience for non-entry roles. No formal academic qualifications are mandated, but candidates must be at least 18 years old and pass a medical fitness test. Employers verify these through the Security Industry Regulatory Framework before hiring.

As per the Ministry of Manpower, applicants must submit a valid NRIC or Work Permit, Security Officer Licence from the Police Licensing & Regulatory Department, and educational certificates during the job application. Additional documents include a recent passport-sized photo, CPF contribution statement, and employment contract signed by the employer. All submissions occur via the MOM Work Pass Online portal at least 7 days before the start date.
