Position Overview

Welder Fabricator / Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, fabrication, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery, equipment, and mechanically related building utilities. The role ensures equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with quality, environmental, and safety standards. It also supports the Maintenance Lead in executing preventive and corrective maintenance programs and contributes to continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.

Responsibilities
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot plant machinery and mechanical systems.
• Identify and correct malfunctions in systems or components, recommending design modifications where applicable.
• Execute preventive maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) programs under the guidance of the Maintenance Lead.
• Recommend and prepare materials, spare parts, and tools required for maintenance and repairs.
• Contribute ideas for improving work processes, equipment efficiency, and reliability.
• Participate in problem-solving initiatives using DMAIC, FMECA, and RCA tools (5 Whys, 6W2H, Breakdown Analysis, Fishbone Diagram).
• Support production operations as required, including during holidays or rest days, and remain flexible with shifting schedules.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Engineering & Project Manager, Engineering Leads, or PM Planner to support operational efficiency and continuous improvement

Education
• Graduate of an Engineering degree or a two-year Vocational/Technical course with NC II Certification in Welding or a related field.
• Must be a Licensed Engineer or a Certified Plant Mechanic.

Experience
• Preferably with at least two years of experience operating and maintaining machinery in a production or maintenance role within a food manufacturing environment.

Skills
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees
• Demonstrates intermediate knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical components, Human Machine Interface (HMI) operation, heat exchangers, pumps and motors, drive systems, and basic electrical systems
