Do I need a work visa to take a restaurant job in New Zealand as an overseas applicant in 2026?

What experience or qualifications are required for restaurant jobs in New Zealand?

Most employers require at least six months of prior hospitality experience and a current Food Safety Certificate issued under the Food Act 2014.
