What You'll Do

As a Security Officer at Kingsway Mall, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for tenants, staff, and the public.

Your duties will include:

• Enforcing mall policies and municipal, provincial, and federal laws

• Working alongside EPS, EMS, and EFD

• Conducting lawful arrests under Section 494 of the Canadian Criminal Code and enforcing the Trespass to Property Act

• Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid

• Managing conflict situations and applying approved use-of-force principles when necessary

Training & Equipment

Successful candidates will complete an intensive 3-week in-house training program before being assigned to independent duties.

You will be equipped with professional-grade tools, including:

• Two-way radio communications
• Ballistic Level IIIA protective vest

• Axon body-worn camera system

• Handcuffs and other approved equipment

Job Requirements:
• Security license is required
• Have High School Diploma or Equivilant
• Security experience is highly preferred
• Class 5 Advanced or higher license is required (Class 7 or Class 5 GDL not accepted)
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong observational skills

• Ability to make immediate decisions while maintaining composure in emergency response situations with minimal supervision

• Ability to walk 18/20km and stairs, standing and patrolling for long periods of time.
