SECURITY GUARD – SPECIAL EVENTS

Location: EDMONTON
• Must be available for 80% of all Major Events in the 2026 Special Event Season.
• Event Season April 2026 to September 2026
• $18.00 per hour

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Event Security Guard Responsibilities but not limited to:
• Observes and report activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property its assets and personnel.
• Perform Security Checks using systems such as EVOLV system, including Bag Search, pat downs and Wanding protocols.
• Must be able to work where liquor is being sold and be able to be certified with AGLC for Liquor legislation and enforcement.
• Must be able to work in all-weather as most events are outside in all types of weather conditions.
• Must be available to work a minimum of 80% of all Major Events for 2026.
• Must be able to write an effective incident report and ensure all the facts are captured.
• Must be able to communicate effective in English both Verbally and in Writing
• Preserves order and may act to enforce regulations and directives for the site pertaining to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controls access to client site or facility through the admittance process including Verifying Government ID
• Must be able to patrol and act accordingly with various types of incidents/disturbances.
• Satisfy client needs by providing excellent customer service while minimizing risk to the client's property and assets.
• Protects evidence or scene of incident in the event of accidents. emergencies, or security investigations.
• Use of communication systems such as handheld radios to report and inform.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must have a valid Alberta Security License
• Event Security Experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Must have Open Availability, especially available during the evening and weekends as most events are within those criteria.
• Must have or be able to complete AGLC certification of Protect and Preserve
• Must be able to work in all-weather as most events are outside in all types of weather conditions.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the site or be able to utilize public transportation.
