Hours: Tuesday to Saturday - 1500-2300

Category: ESA - Overtime after 44 hours

Pay Rate: $18.97/hr

Site Description: Shops at Don Mills is located at Don Mills and Lawrence Avenue East in Toronto, Ontario. With 72 stores, this is a lifestyle shopping center Anchored around fashion, dining and entertainment, Shops at Don Mills makes shopping a delight.

Job Description: To deliver a consistent and outstanding level of customer service to clients by actively seeking out opportunities to provide assistance and support. Working on assigned shifts, to act as a deterrent to crime and undesired activity and help to maintain a visibly safe and welcoming property environment. You will be required to write reports and investigate routine incidents, as well as respond to emergencies in a quick and efficient manner. Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Maintain compliance with and enforce property standards, rules, and regulations in a reasonable manner
• Able to use tact and diplomacy in dealings across a range of settings and situations
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, CPR or AED support until medical professionals arrive
• Ability to maintain and enforce access control procedures
• Solid understanding of emergency and standard operating procedures
• Deal with trespassers and unauthorized persons found on the property, in a fair and safe manner, by enforcing the Trespass to Property Act
• Assist with Fire & Life Safety inspections
• Maintain a detailed memo book and prepare incident reports on all matters dealt with using CF's standard report-writing program
• Patrolling and monitoring premises to detect any irregularities, which may include suspicious behavior or security breaches.
• Keeping calm when alarms are triggered and escorting people to safety or apprehending the guilty parties.
• Responding to calls for help and contacting the fire department or law enforcement if required.
• Assisting during emergencies, ensuring minimal injury to people and damage to property.
• Removing or restraining anyone who threatens the safety or disturbs the peace.
• Following orders and working as part of a team to ensure the safety of staff and customers.
• Writing up daily reports and providing suggestions for improved security.
• Undertaking all tasks with the utmost integrity and professionalism.

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
• A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Must possess a valid Standard First Aid and CPR certification (WSIB-approved). Please note, this is different from Level C or Emergency First Aid certification.
• Valid G2 or G Drivers License
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• 2 COVID-19 Vaccinations proof
• Proficient in English (both oral and written)
