Location: Mississauga, ON

Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 per hour

Shifts: Monday to Sunday |7PM - 7AM |Overnight Shift

Overview :

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Security Professional - Shelter Safety to join our team at a shelter site in Mississauga, Ontario.This role is crucial to ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have experience working with the Vulnerable Sector, High Risk Environment, with a strong presence, the ability to handle stressful situations, and an unwavering commitment to maintaining a secure environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES :
• Site Surveillance & Patrol: Perform regular patrols of the site and surrounding areas to ensure the security of the premises. Monitor all entry points for unauthorized access.
• Visibility & Coverage: Maintain high visibility at the designated posts. Ensure security coverage near sensitive areas within the site.
• Access Control: Enforce site access protocols by verifying the identification of authorized personnel, logging visitor entry and exit, and ensuring that gates and doors remain securely locked when not in use.
• Communication: Maintain clear and constant communication via radio with other security personnel. Report incidents, unusual activities, or security concerns promptly.
• Emergency Response: Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergencies, including medical incidents, fires, or security breaches. Contact emergency services and assist as necessary.
• Incident Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all security activities, incidents, and patrols. Complete shift reports and provide detailed handover notes for the next shift.
• Site & Asset Protection: Prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access to site materials and equipment. Ensure all property is secured at all times.
• Compliance with Safety Procedures: Ensure adherence to all safety policies and procedures on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all personnel.
• General Security Duties: Ensure the overall safety and security of the site and surrounding areas by addressing any security risks or safety concerns that arise during the shift.

REQUIREMENTS :
• 1-2 years of Security Guard experience working in Shelter
• Must have a valid Ontario Security License.
• Must be at least 18 years old or above for insurance purposes
• High school diploma or equivalent/GED or equivalent work experience
• Must be eligible to work in Canada up to 40 hours a week.
• First Aid and CPR
