Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Facilities Cleaning Supervisor to oversee cleaning operations at a large commercial facility in **Mississauga, Ontario**. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation across the entire property, including offices, common areas, restrooms, and production spaces. You will lead and manage a team of cleaning staff, scheduling shifts, assigning tasks, and providing ongoing training and performance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial cleaning best practices, knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment, and a keen eye for detail. You will be responsible for inventory management of cleaning supplies, ensuring proper storage and usage, and maintaining equipment in good working order. Safety protocols and compliance with health regulations are paramount in this role. This position requires excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to motivate a team and interact professionally with building management and tenants.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of cleaning staff to ensure comprehensive cleaning services. Develop and implement effective cleaning schedules and routines for all areas of the facility. Train new cleaning staff on proper cleaning techniques, safety procedures, and the use of equipment and chemicals. Conduct regular inspections of work areas to ensure quality standards are met and identify any deficiencies. Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, equipment, and disposables, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective procurement. Maintain records of cleaning activities, staff performance, and supply usage. Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Address and resolve any cleaning-related issues or complaints from building management or tenants promptly and professionally. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition and properly maintained. Foster a positive and productive work environment for the cleaning team, promoting teamwork and efficiency. Implement and enforce safety protocols for chemical handling, equipment operation, and general workplace safety. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial or institutional cleaning, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity. Demonstrated knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitization techniques, and the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Experience with floor care, carpet cleaning, and specialized cleaning tasks. Strong leadership, team management, and motivational skills. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to conduct thorough inspections and identify areas needing attention. Understanding of health and safety regulations relevant to cleaning operations. Physical ability to perform cleaning tasks as needed and lift moderate weight. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications in cleaning management are a plus.
