Job Description
The Bridges Medical Centre is looking for a caretaker / cleaner. We are happy to combine the jobs of 2 members of staff who have retired or keep the jobs separate, depending on applicant preferences. The cleaning part of the job is for a defined area of the building for 2.5 hours (potentially increasing to 3.5) a day. This can be worked either early morning 6am to 8am or evening 6pm to 8pm. The caretaker part of the job is 8 hours and can be worked flexibly. There is a requirement to cover annual leave for the cleaner of Littlemoor Surgery.

The Bridges is a large, busy, friendly practice. We have a range of clinical, cleaning and admin staff who work together as a team. We are looking for a hard working individual to provide a high standard of cleanliness for our patients and staff.
Main duties of the job

The cleaning part of the role is for a defined part of the building as other cleaners are employed to clean the rest. Cleaning needs to be done daily to a high standard, particularly in clinical areas. Flexibility is needed as rooms are in use at different times.

The caretaker part of the role includes simple DIY, stock ordering, general maintenance tasks and liaising with contractors. The role is based at The Bridges but includes Littlemoor Surgery.

We are a large, friendly, cohesive team. We work hard to provide the best possible care for our patients.

Free staff parking, NHS pension and cycle to work scheme are available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about Welder Jobs

Q What is the minimum wage for Welder Jobs in United Arab Emirates?
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation sets no statutory minimum wage for welders in the private sector as of 2026. Employers must pay at least AED 4,000 per month for skilled welders under standard work contracts registered with MoHRE. Overtime rates are fixed at 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours beyond 8 per day.
Q What visa and work permit requirements apply for international welders in UAE in 2026?
International welders require a work permit sponsored by a MoHRE-approved employer followed by a residence visa issued through ICP. The permit costs AED 300 for issuance and must be renewed every 2 years with a valid passport and medical fitness certificate. Quota-based approvals require the employer to maintain a 2:1 ratio of skilled expatriates to Emiratis in construction roles.
Q What education and experience are required to qualify for welder jobs in UAE?
MoHRE classifies welders as skilled workers requiring a minimum of 2 years documented experience plus a valid welding certification such as AWS or equivalent. Applicants must hold at least a secondary school certificate and pass a trade test conducted by approved centres before contract registration.
Q What documents are needed to apply for welder positions through official UAE channels?
Applications require a valid passport, attested educational certificates, experience letters, medical fitness report from a MoHRE-approved centre, and a no-objection certificate if changing employers. All documents must be submitted via the MoHRE e-services portal by 31 December 2026 for new contracts.
