The Ministry of Labour sets the 2026 minimum wage for packing staff at 400 THB per day in Bangkok and 372 THB per day in other provinces. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate after 8 hours. Employers must display the wage rate notice at the workplace.

Foreign packing staff require a Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit issued by the Department of Employment before starting work. The permit costs 3,000 THB for one year and must be applied for within 7 days of arrival. Employers must be licensed to hire foreigners under the Alien Work Permit system.

No formal education is required for packing staff roles under the Labour Protection Act. Applicants need to be at least 18 years old and pass a basic health check. Prior warehouse experience is not mandatory but must be declared on the employment contract.

Applicants must submit a national ID card or passport, house registration, and a medical certificate from a government hospital dated within 30 days. The employer files the employment contract with the labour office within 15 days of hiring.
