Shipping and Packaging Foreman (Steel Fabrication Company)

Supervisory and Leadership Duties:-

Team Management: Leading, training, and mentoring a team of shipping
and packaging associates. This includes planning work schedules,
delegating responsibilities, evaluating performance, and conducting
disciplinary actions when necessary.

Problem Resolution: Acting as the primary point of contact for
operational, employee, and technical problems within the department,
and resolving conflicts quickly to avoid production bottlenecks.

Safety and Compliance: Emphasizing and enforcing safety policies and
procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment
(PPE), tools, machinery, and equipment, to maintain a safe work
environment.

Process Improvement: Monitoring performance metrics, analyzing data,
and developing and implementing efficient procedures and policies to
enhance productivity, quality, and reduce waste.

Coordination: Collaborating with other departments (e.g., inventory
management, production, quality assurance, customer service) and
external carriers to ensure alignment on schedules and seamless
operations.

Operational and Administrative Duties:-

Order Fulfillment: Overseeing the assembly, checking, and preparation
of customer orders for shipment, ensuring all items match the order
specifications.

Packaging and Labeling: Ensuring products are packaged safely and
securely according to company quality standards and shipping
regulations, including correct labeling and addressing.

Shipping and Receiving: Coordinating the loading and unloading of
trucks, selecting appropriate carriers based on cost and service, and
ensuring compliance with all related regulations and customs
paperwork.

Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate shipping
records and documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, packing
lists, and inventory logs.

Quality Control: Inspecting products and packages for defects or
damages, reporting discrepancies, and returning non-conforming goods
to the appropriate department.

Inventory Management: Assisting with monitoring inventory levels,
performing cycle counts, and ensuring adequate stock of shipping and
packaging materials.

Equipment Operation: Operating and ensuring the proper maintenance of
material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and
packaging machinery.
