Job Description
The Technician for Plumbing & Fire Fighting will be responsible for installation and maintenance of pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing requirements, as well as installation and maintenance of the fire protection system which includes all materials associated with fire alarm, sprinkler systems and fire hydrants.

Your Responsibilities

Plumbing
β€’ Work from plans, sketches, blueprints, work orders or other instructions; interpret plans and specifications
β€’ Prepare estimates of time and materials for new construction or repair work
β€’ Install, repair, and maintain pipes for carrying water, sewage, gas and other liquids
β€’ Install, maintain/regulate, repair, and replace plumbing lines, fixtures, fittings and equipment
β€’ Install, repair and test back flow prevention devices
β€’ Maintain inventory of parts, fixtures, tools and other shop equipment
β€’ Inspect work done by contractors for adherence to codes and specifications
β€’ Maintain service records, inspection records, and other documentation/report as needed

Fire Fighting
β€’ Install and carry out routine and preventive maintenance of all fire protection and alarm systems and equipment including hoses and hydrants
β€’ Attend to any fire related emergencies
β€’ Check and maintain fire protection supplies
β€’ Identify faults and troubleshoot fire systems
β€’ Complete necessary documentation/reports pertaining to all work undertaken such as daily maintenance and inspection reports and maintain database and manual filing system
β€’ Liaise with Fire Protection Engineer for supply of spare parts and check compliance with standards
β€’ Liaise with Project Engineers regarding commissioning of new equipment, review documentation and conduct necessary tests
β€’ Assists the Fire Inspectors with the fire inspections

β€’ Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience

β€’ Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers, architects/engineers and other professionals
