Cleaning staff positions qualify under NOC code 65310 with processing times of 8 weeks for online applications. Permits are issued for up to 2 years and require proof of $15,000 in settlement funds.

As per the Government of Canada, no formal education is mandated for cleaning staff roles but applicants must demonstrate 6 months of paid cleaning experience within the last 2 years. High school completion or equivalent is preferred by 65% of employers in 2026 federal job bank listings. WHMIS certification completed within the prior 12 months is mandatory for chemical handling tasks.

As per the Government of Canada, applicants must submit a SIN card, updated resume, and two government-issued photo IDs when applying via the Job Bank portal by March 2026. A valid police record check dated within 6 months and proof of COVID-19 vaccination status are required for hospital and school cleaning contracts.
