The Labour Market Regulatory Authority requires a valid work permit sponsored by the restaurant employer, costing 200 BHD for a 2-year validity, with medical fitness and security clearance completed within 30 days of arrival. Applications must be submitted via the LMRA online portal before starting employment.
Q What education and experience are needed for restaurant jobs in Bahrain?
The Ministry of Labour and Social Development requires a high school certificate or equivalent plus 1 year of relevant experience for waiter or kitchen roles, with food safety certification mandatory for all food handlers. Q What documents are required to apply for restaurant jobs in Bahrain?
Applicants must submit a valid passport, recent passport photos, educational certificates attested by the Bahraini embassy, and a medical report from an approved center to the employer for LMRA work permit processing. Police clearance certificate is also mandatory for all non-Bahraini applicants.
