As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the minimum wage for security guards in Bahrain is BHD 300 per month for Bahraini nationals as of January 2026, with overtime paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate after 8 hours daily. Expatriate security guards must receive at least BHD 250 monthly plus accommodation allowance of BHD 50.

As per the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, foreign security guards require an LMRA work permit valid for 2 years costing BHD 200, sponsored by a licensed security company with no-objection certificate from the Ministry of Interior. Applications must be submitted online via LMRA portal before arrival, with medical fitness test completed within 30 days of entry.

As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, security guards need a high school certificate or equivalent plus 6 months of relevant experience, or completion of a 40-hour approved training course from a Bahrain Institute of Hospitality and Tourism center by June 2026. No prior criminal record is mandatory with police clearance issued within 3 months.

As per the Labour Market Regulatory Authority, applicants must submit passport valid for 6 months, educational certificates attested by Bahrain Embassy, experience letters, and medical report from approved centers costing BHD 30. Police clearance and 2 passport photos are required for the LMRA work permit application submitted by the employer.
