Role Overview We are looking for a reliable and responsible Driver to operate and manage Calo’s food truck. This role will be part of the Retail team and will involve driving the truck to various retail and event locations, ensuring smooth setup and operations, and maintaining the vehicle in excellent condition. The ideal candidate will represent Calo professionally, ensuring timely and safe transport while helping deliver a great on-site customer experience. Main Responsibilities Licensing & Compliance Hold a valid Bahrain driver’s license; a Heavy Vehicle or Food Truck Operation License may be required depending on the truck’s category. Maintain awareness of food truck operation permits and municipality regulations related to serving food in public or event areas. Ensure all vehicle licenses, permits, and relevant documentation are valid and up to date. Follow all traffic laws, food safety, and hygiene regulations to ensure compliant and safe operation. Daily Operations & Logistics Drive and operate the food truck safely and efficiently across various locations in Bahrain. Conduct daily pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections, including tires, lights, generator, water, and gas levels. Manage fueling and generator operations to ensure adequate power and fuel throughout service hours. Keep the truck clean, organized, and ready for service at all times. Assist in setting up the truck at events or retail sites (e.g., connecting power, organizing equipment, arranging signage). Support the retail team during service hours by helping with operational tasks such as restocking or organizing supplies. Monitor maintenance schedules, log vehicle activity, and promptly report any issues or breakdowns to the Operations team. Scheduling & Coordination Coordinate with the Retail Operations team on route planning, scheduling, and daily location setup. Ensure timely arrivals and efficient route management across assigned locations. Be flexible with work hours including weekends, public holidays, and late-night events when required. Adjust routes or timings as needed based on operational or event demands. Customer Experience & Representation Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful attitude when interacting with customers, vendors, and event partners. Represent Calo positively and uphold the brand’s image at all times while on the road or on-site. Support the overall customer experience by assisting the retail team as needed during service hours. Ideal Candidate Qualifications Previous experience as a driver, preferably in food delivery, logistics, or within the hospitality/retail industry. Valid Bahrain driver’s license. Knowledge of Bahrain’s roads and routes. Currently based in Bahrain. Proficient in English; Arabic is a plus. Basic understanding of food handling and hygiene is preferred. Physically capable of handling setup and light lifting tasks when required. Knowledge & Competency Strong sense of responsibility and punctuality. Efficient route management and time optimization skills. Ability to perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs. Comfortable assisting with setup, restocking, and simple operational duties. Awareness of safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards. Good teamwork and communication skills. Personality Reliable, polite, and professional in attitude and appearance. Team player with a positive and cooperative approach. Calm under pressure, especially during high-traffic or event rush hours. Customer-focused with a friendly and service-oriented mindset.
