Full-Time Domestic Driver/Helper Required For A Bahraini Family in Manama

As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, the minimum wage for drivers in Bahrain is BD 180 per month as of January 2026 for expatriate workers on private sector contracts. Overtime must be paid at 1.25 times the hourly rate for hours exceeding 48 per week. Employers must also provide BD 40 monthly food allowance or equivalent meals.

As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, foreign drivers need a valid LMRA work permit issued after employer sponsorship and a medical fitness certificate from a government-approved center valid for 2026. The visa process requires a passport valid for at least 6 months, police clearance certificate, and driving license attested by the Bahraini embassy within 30 days of arrival.

As per the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, drivers must hold at least a high school certificate or equivalent and possess a minimum of 2 years driving experience in the GCC region as of 2026. A valid Bahraini driving license category for the vehicle type is mandatory along with no more than 3 traffic violations in the prior 24 months.
