Newtown is located 50 km west of Shrewsbury, deep in the heart of Powys. The Cambrian Line train service connects the two towns in about 50 minutes. Alternatively, driving via the A483 and A489 takes roughly an hour. This route follows the River Severn for much of the way, providing beautiful valley views. It is a popular route for those visiting the Mid Wales countryside.
